This pre-historic, 5 stories high, 20 room apartment, is considered one of the best-preserved cliff dwellings in North America. Traveling north into the Verde Valley we make our first stop at Montezuma Castle National Monument for approximately 30-40 minutes. The geological change from the mighty saguaros of the Sonoran Desert Phoenix area (1,117 feet), to the unique rock formations of Sedona (4,350 feet), and the hillside town of Jerome (5,066 feet) is remarkable.
